NFPA Aerial Testing
Structural Technology, Inc. offers a Safety Inspection program that meets current NFPA guidelines for performing operational tests and inspections on aerial devices. In order for firemen to perform their duties under extreme conditions, the equipment must be able to meet the challenge. Safety is of utmost importance therefore the equipment must be safe. In order to prevent potential catastrophic failures, the equipment must be tested and inspected to identify potential problems before injuries or failure occur. A quality testing and inspection program may also prevent units from untimely “out of service” problems and can save Fire Departments money because of early detection before major problems develop.
NFPA1911 Chapter 19.1.2 states; inspections and tests specified as NDT shall be conducted as follows:
1. At least every 5 years.
2. Whenever visual inspection or load testing indicates a potential structural or safety problem.
3. When there is a desire to further confirm continued operational safety.
Our safety inspection program, including NDT, is performed annually, “on-site” under the direction of fire department personnel with all necessary equipment to perform the required tests and inspections. Our Technicians are certified under SNT-TC-1A guidelines and comply with NFPA1911 chapter 19 and are trained to work efficiently and safely in any work environment.

- Visual Inspection
- Functional and Operational Inspection
- Load and Drift Testing
- Oil Analysis
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
-Magnetic Particle Inspection
-Ultrasonic Inspection
Technicians performing NDT are SNT-TC-1A and NFPA1911 Chapter 19 certified in all Methods. |
